Is Jarvis & Wellesley a safe area in Toronto? |
Travel Info I'm staying at a bed & breakfast in Toronto. Jarvis and Wellesley being the major streets. For people who know the area or city, is this a relatively safe area? Travel Tips During the day it is Ok but at night this CAN be ........... its basically Gay,Hookers and Mariwana Area If some body ask u some thing in the night be Generous Others This should be a relatively safe area. It is near the downtown, and is a somewhat mixed neighbourhood, meaning that there are high-rises, single-dwelling homes, and businesses all mixed in together. You may very well encounter street people in the area, but I don't recall hearing anything much about trouble in this area. Hope this helps. Its a great spot. It is in the "pink triangle" but don't worry, the real life can be very entertaining. You will be fine safety -wise, anthough you might get whistled at. :p You are within easy walking distance of the Eaton Centre, Yonge/Bloor/Yorkville, ROM, AGO, Queen's Park, etc. A longer walk or a short jaunt on the Subway or Taxi can get you just about anywhere else (Danforth area, Theatre District, Distillery District, Skydome, ACC, etc.) Have fun! Well you won't get killed, but if you have a problem with gay people or hookers, good luck. That is right downtown...you need to take the regular precautions, as in any big city. i live there. you get asked for change a lot, but thats about the most annoying thing. you dont have to go to the gay street a block over if you dont want. if you dont look like you want a hooker, you dont get bothered, and thats only after 12 anyway. cause its near the gay area i have to travel to go to good bars that i like, but thats the only real downside. |
