Finding a job in Toronto?

Travel Info
Hi guys, I鈥檒l be moving to Toronto Canada this summer. I鈥檒l soon be graduating with a degree in business studies from England.
a)I really don鈥檛 know what sort of job I should look for. Also I noticed that most jobs require own transportation. I was hoping someone could enlighten me on any non finance opportunities in GTA.
b)What sort of jobs can I apply for with a degree in business studies besides the typical marketing, sales, administration, finance etc?
c)What websites or agencies can I look into for entry level positions?
d)What is the average starting salary for fresh graduates?

Thanks a lot !

Travel Tips
As someone mentioned the transit system here is pretty good. Maybe not as good as London, but certainly cheeper. The best jobsite in Canada is workopolis.ca. You may want to sign up with agencies such as, Kelly Services, Ranstad, Manpower, and AltisHR to get started. I don't know what sort of jobs you could get but temping is a good way to try different things. I would also go to Human Resourses Canada to talk to a career counciler who can give you an idea what is out there.

I can't really answer your questions re: what kind of job you're looking for.. but the same jobs as elsewhere exist here too.

Most jobs do *not* require own transportation... not sure where you saw that

I would check out monster.ca, workopolis.ca for job openings. You may want to also apply to individual companies. Major banks here are Scotia, Bank of Montreal, RBC, TD Canada Trust, and CIBC. Also try the provincial and federal governments.

Depending on what kind of job you get, I'd say an entry level position in a large corporation averages $35,000 - $45,000 to start, maybe more if your degree is really good.
The transit system is very good in Toronto usually you dont need your own car. As for starting wages when I moved to Toronto I also has a business degree I started working n a bank as a mail clerk - I made about $22,000 my first year - you can probley expect to make more then that now though.

There are lots of employment agencies that help you get your foot in the door. Kellys employment services helped me get the job at the bank.
One of the great things about Toronto is the availability of free employment services to get you on track.

There are Employment Resource Centres that provide a plethora of professional services including access to a computer.

Depending on where you are moving to in Toronto a good place to start is

Here you can meet with a resource specialist who will help you to navigate the issues of employment for a new comer and point you in the right direction. An excellent service
