There are free or nearly free trips by bus to the casinos (Fallsview, Rama, etc.)

But there's actually some REALLY fun bus trips IN Toronto that I have taken. I highly recommend the Gray Line Tours. They operate in major cities, I've done them in Toronto and Ottawa and were excellent each time!!

I'm in Oshawa, there's not much to do out here in general, but, if you take a look at the city websites of some GTA locations you're interested in visiting (you can google each one), they will help you plan your trip depending on what special events are happening in each place.
