Is it possible to know the main touristic points in Toronto in only one day?

Travel Info
Anybody knows Toronto? Is it possible to see this town in one day?

Travel Tips
No, it is not really possible. However, depending on the length of your day and the day of the week, it is possible to see several things, briefly. If you have an eight hour layover at the airport, you're not going to see much.

Anyway, start with what types of things you want to see. (Museums, theatre, neighbourhoods, zoos, architecture, parks, clubs, etc.) Then, consider your budget, your accommodation/layover location, the time of year and the day of the week.

Like most cities in North America, Toronto has a bit of sprawl and traffic issues. So, don't count on being able to see sites that are far from each other. If you'll be near downtown, then consider only trying to see sites that are a short walk or subway ride from each other. On a weekday, it would be possible to spend some time at the CN Tower, then go to a museum, and then have a picnic dinner on the Islands. On a summer weekend, the lineups to get into places can be insane. Call ahead to find out what the venue estimates for line-ups.

There are also several nearby cities that tend to get lumped in with Toronto, including Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Brampton, Vaughan, Mississauga and Oakville. They can all be reached by public transit, such as the GO Train system. Other nearby towns that can be reached within a short drive include Niagara-On-The-Lake, Stratford, Niagara Falls and St. Jacobs. Source(s): http://www.cntower.ca/portal/

Other Travel Tips
Very easy, open up the guide book and there they are. Seeing them all in a day is an impossible feat. My suggestion is to see what interests you and visit the one or possibly two you might find most enjoyable.
It would be impossible to see all of Toronto's tourist spots in one day - it is a big city (imagine trying to see EVERYTHING in New York city in one day!)

However, you could narrow down your search and figure out what you would really like to see - Museums, Art Galleries, Sports, CN Tower, Toronto Islands - you could do one thing in the morning and another in the afternoon and maybe one more thing in the evening.

But, you won't be able to see EVERYTHING in one day!
WOW one day trip to toronto
CN tower
Rogers centre
Hockey hall of fame
kingston market
Eaton centre, Dundas Square(Might be some thing happeing)

Nina,

You wouldn't be able to experience all the sights and sounds offered in Toronto in a month of Sundays.
