Travel Tips
There are two free weekly alternative newspapers in Toronto that have great club, concert and event listings. Just look for Now Magazine or Eye Weekly when you get here... they're available on nearly every street corner.

Defiantly go clubbing!
just remember to watch what goes on around you , there are lots of fights
the beaches during the summer days is beautiful, there volleyball going on, lots of people and dogs, swimming, tanning, and then you can go to the street right above the beaches and eat at some nice restaurants.
if you go to the Eaton's shopping center there are nice places to shop
pubs
festivals and parties
you could even go to surrounding cities if you get bored with Toronto (but i doubt you will)
golfing (the best golfing place is in Uxbridge Ontario, A little town about 45 to 1h away and the golf place is called Wooden Sticks, has the most amazing meals to. Rachel Bison or what ever her name is [from the OC] came down here with the guys from star wars LoL and i like there...SO good publicity.
if you like history there's the ROM (royal Ontario museum) its got some interesting stuff..
castle loma is cool...overpriced but interesting
the CN Tower of course, but i wouldn't recommend eating there, WAY expensive for a pretty bad meal...unless its a buffet then go for it.. [remember if you go to the CN Tower stand on the glass!!]
if your into Stag shops we got quite a few...
oh and if you stay into some what of fall you can go to the EX! the most amazing fair! its huge! if not there's Wonderland (60$ per person about) full of roller coasters and water parks and there's Ontario Place too !
oh gosh when you get here youll have a blast!!
(rember to try Kawartha Dairy Ice cream if you like ice cream ! its SO good! and you cant get it elsewhere [my family makes that =D more advertising lol but it is good!]
have a blast!

To be served alcohol or to purchase alcohol in Ontario you have to be 19 years of age so you are in luck. Toronto is a city of festivals in the summer. Entire streets and sections of the city close for these festivals. Finding someplace to drink around the University area is not a problem. The entertainment district is full of sports bars and restaurants. Local pubs can be found and you will have access to various free publications at the university. You also can check with any hotel conceirge as to what to do or where to go. Toronto has a professional baseball team playing at the Skydome, a new soccer team playing in a new stadium on the waterfront and what we call football also at the skydome. Ontario Place is a great place to escape the heat of the city as are the Toronto Islands for swimming(water conditions permitting). The Canadian National Exhibition is in late August, and Canada's Wonderland, a huge theme park is located just north of the city. You are about one hour and a half from Niagara Falls, and numerous other places. You may want to invest in a VIA rail pass to get you around the southern part of the province. You could also take the train to Ottawa and experience the museums of the nations capital but you would have to budget for this. It is a huge city and very friendly. You will not be bored at all as the city never stops in summer. We have 2 seasons in Canada, Summer and the other 9 months or so it seems. You will be in the city at the best time so buy a copy of Lets Go if you can find one as it is aimed at university age students and have fun.
