Travel Info Is North York (Toronto) a safe area? I am thinking of renting a room at Santa Barbara Rd near Yonge & Finch? Travel Tips That area is safe and clean. North York in general is ok, but you`d better avoid the Jane/Finch area, which is towards the East end. Others I visited New York (rural & city areas) and I have to tell you that there is a misperception that New York is not safe because most people associate "New York state" with "New York City"--but in reality, they are two completely different things! So not to worry, you should be just fine! You'll be fine. One area to avoid though, is the Jane-Finch corridor (in North York)--Heed my advice and don't go there. Torontonian Ya its a Safe Area to live having easy acess to day to day needs and Sub-Way best of luck Yes, it's safe, but maybe a little boring... not much around there in terms of nightlife and shopping, unless you love Korean karaoke bars (which could be fun too). Kinda far from downtown. Really boring, don't do it if it can be helped. Consider other areas way south and a little west of there. |
