I will stay in Montreal , I plan to visito Niagral Fall for 2-3 day. What is the best way to do this trip?I? |
Travel Info I will bring my 22 month old baby with me. Travel Tips Gosh ... a 22 months old baby might not like to travel that easily specially taking a long trip like that one If you travel by car; From Montreal just take the autoroute and follow the directions to Toronto .. It will change names at the Ontario-Quebec border to 401 and then relax and enjoy the trip Everything is really nice up to Port Hope where the traffic towards toronto starts to get busy. I suggest a stop over at the Service center .. the one just before coming to Toronto.. it will something like NEXT service center 160 kms. Service centers usually are 80 kms aparts. Try not to cross Toronto any time from 7am to 7pm since the traffic jams are going to slow you down but if you do .. take plenty of water, stuff for your baby to play and just relax... Follow the directions to Niagara Falls. Your trip with no problems should take around 7 -8 hours but if you come during the day it might take more like 10 hours. It would be nice if you come with someone to share the drive and also take lots of pictures. :) Train is a very good alternative, it takes about the same amount of time but you will not be tired at the end of your trip Source(s): http://www.viarail.ca/ Other Travel Tips Even though both are in Canada, they are quite far apart. It is a seven hour drive each way. So with a 22 month old, allowing stops, potty breaks, meals and leg stretches, thats going to mean at least 10-12 hours. If you are up for that, the shortest route is actually back through the US. Are you Canadian? US citizen? If you neither and are visiting from someplace other than that, you will need to make sure you have passport/visa for both Canada & US You will come down the 401 and cross over at 1000 islands area, down rt 81 into Syracuse - NYS thruway west to buffalo - then north to Niagara Falls. If this is still in your game plan, (brave woman) There is lots of kid friendly stuff to do. There is a butterfly conservatory, and used to be a hummingbird garden too. a trip on the maid of the mist is wet and fun. There is a splashy indoor water park there too. |
