Neighbourhoods.......? |
Travel Info a) What may attract u to move to another neighbourhood in your city? What features of the new are are missing in your neighbourhood? Looking for yr opinions... b) In your opinion, what features in a neighbourhood are most desirable?? Travel Tips I moved to a kind of a rural area a few months ago with my boyfriend. It is so nice compared to the suburban area I live in before. We have neighbors with horses and live on like 90 acres it is great compared to my on street apartment from before, where I could never have friends over because there was no yard and now this weekend actually we have like 30 people coming for a cook out (so exciting!!) The only negative things are I was used to going like ten minutes down the road to buy anything from gas, clothes, and appliances to luxury cars ??? Also I was used to not having a long commute to work. I have to say it is worth a little more gas money for privacy in a peaceful, quite neighborhood!!!! Others mostly it's escaping the day to day scenery. or your taste and interest change over time, or you want to explore something different and new without having to make a drastic change. Well your house is definately the primary focus. If you're moving somewhere you gotta like the house first. Second, the environment and physical surroundings. I like lots of trees, space between houses, a few cars parked in the streets, big houses, that kind of stuff. Next, the people. Are you black, white, hispanic, asian? Do you want to live with people of the same race or diversity? I personally prefer white nieghborhoods. Not being racist, I am asian but black neighborhoods are usually crowded or contains crime, hispanic neighborhoods are very lively and crowded as well and loud (music). Asian neighborhoods are OVERcrowded and sometimes smelly (ie. Chinatown, Flushing) but safe however. But white people usually mean they have money and if you have money you live in a nice place so if I see a lot of white people living there I know its a nice neighborhood with lots of trees and fancy cars parked and what not. Third is geographical location. Is it in bumblefuck or is it close to a major metropolitan area or highly suburban? I prefer close to an urban location like Long Island or Bayside but usually the closer to the city you are, the more crowded/crappier the neighborhoods are going to be. I live in Kew Gardens, Queens, NYC so I know all about different neighborhoods. My nieghborhood is predominantly white, with trees, and moderately crowded but not crowded crowded. I am quite satisfied with where I live it's 40 minutes from the city and quiet here. I live on a small block and we all have lots of cars so parking is a biotch. Hope this is helpful somehow. |
