The North American standard is 120V and is known as the NEMA 5-15 (or in Canada it is referred to as CS22.2 standard)

You can see an example of the NEMA 5-15 at the website listed below.

You may need to check the device that you are bringing to see if it has a switch on it for the voltage. For example, some laptops will have a 110/220 switch that needs to be set to 110 when in North America, but set to 220 when in Europe.

If you are living in the USA we use the same kind of electrical plugs. 2 flat blades side by side and ground prong on the bottom. Some appliances, internally grounded, have only the two flat blades.
