What to do in Toronto? |
Travel Info Ok, I'm from Los Angeles, and I'm going to Toronto for my first time in July 07.... anything special I should do? music/nightlife... touristy things... etc.. Travel Tips I am from Toronto and I visit LA almost every year. There are many similarities and differences. What you should do is explore the things about Toronto that would be a little different than L.A. Yorkville, a high class shopping area is very nice, similar to Rodeo Drive. Various malls you can check out...Yorkdale, Eaton Centre. Toronto Zoo is also very nice. You could do what the first poster said, visit the skydome and CN Tower, watch a Jays game. The night life in Toronto is great, it's similar to L.A., but I believe L.A. is slightly better. If you're coming in July there is a jazz festival if you like jazz. I believe The Taste of the Danforth is also on during that time; it's a street festival held on a street called The Danforth. Although it's Greek by nature, most of the foods held on this festival is international by nature. Basically you walk down the street and sample different foods. There is Yuk Yuks and Just for Laughs, internationally recognized comedy fests where many stars got their start. There are various parks you can visit. Casa Loma, which is similar to Hearst Castle, but you don't have to pay as much to get inside, and in my opinion has more history. There's Canada's Wonderland, a theme park, about 5 minutes north of Toronto that you can visit. I would recommend Centre Island, a ferry ride from Toronto, nice place to just look and walk around, especially if you're bringing a special someone. There's so much more to discover about Toronto; I hope you enjoy your visit. Others See a Blue Jays game at the Skydome. C.N. tower next door, of course ;) Go to Ontario place, maybe if you are lucky, they will have one of their free concerts that night. If you like jazz music and fine dining, check out gate 403. The CN tower tour if you want to go to the top of the worlds tallest building. The zoo, one of the boat tours, the jazz cruise (and dinner) Maybe go to Medieval times. hundreds of restaurants and clubs. Shopping at the Eaton Centre, or Yorkville district. The Science centre is always fun, Casino Niagara or a Niagara falls tour if you want to spend a day outside of the city. Maybe take in a game at the ACC or Skydome There are so many things to do here. CN TOWER (Tallest frestanding Building)!!! It is very cool. Sky Dome Medival Times Rogers Center Canada's Wonderland The Expo The list is endless, There are a lot of different things that you can see. Welcome to Toronto! Enjoy your stay!
