What is the exact procedure for immigration to canada? |
Travel Info My husband is a canadian national.I want to join him. How long will the immigration procedure take and what are the requirements?I visited all the websites and links related to immigration to canada but they all confuse me.Kindly help me out. Travel Tips In most of the cases they can issue Visas within 6 months. your Hubby can apply here if u send him ur signed forms, after processing in Canada these will be Forwarded to ur country of residence,(its a 2-3 months process)Embassy pepole will call u for an interview(might ask for wedding Photos),after this they will give u medical test forms,u have to appear before a medical doctor mentioned on ur Medical papers.(again 2-3 months) if every thing is ok they will ask u to submit original Passports for visa Best of luck, and have fun while in Canada with ur Charming HUSBAND Others getting a temp visa to enter Canada then take your marriage license down to immigration and apply Are you from the US? I am American and am living in Canada and I can help you out. You need to contact http://cic.gc.ca to get" out of country" Permanent Resident paperwork. This is faster than "in country" paperwork after you get here. You can always get a visitor visa at the border and then start your paperwork. Get husband to sponsor you & your visitor visa will be good for 6 months. Come here now before they require a passport next year by car. Remember after your PR paperwork has been filed, you cannot leave the country until it's processed, usually 6-9 months. Bring a copy of your medical records, marriage certif.,divorce decree, educational certif, driver license abstract & driving history. You will be a new driver in the province so your insurance will be higher at first. That will get you started. American living in Canada no go to the embassy in town.they will guide you.good luck. It all depends on where you are from and how many points you qualify under. My sister in law from Nicaragua finally got landed status after two years of efforts despite the fact that she speaks three languages including English and French fluently, despite the fact that she holds two Masters degrees from fully accredited and recognized American Universities, despite the fact that she herself was at one time a senior bureaucrat responsible for customs in Nicaragua and despite the fact that she is a university professor. Two years. And it required the effort of my brother to get her accepted. It is incumbent on your husband to do most of the work. You only have to file the paperwork at the closest Canadian legation but it is up to your husband and the immigration consultant he choses to push the application through the ponderous matrix of Canadian bureaucracy. As far as you're concerned you must rely on your husband. |
