Why does Toronto like to close the entire DVP for the Heart/stroke cycle ride? |
Travel Info Can't the city just add .25 cents to our taxes and spare us the hell we have to endure for the entire Saturday. Plus this way you actually help the people by raising serious money. I mean are the cycilist that powerful lobby that they just shut down the city like its nothing? Peace, Travel Tips I have never believed in traffic being shut down for charity in any city. We have parks, sidewalks, race tracks and community trails. These can easily be used instead. Others It is to help get people involved with charities and riding a bike is a healthy way to do it. Ya, it's a pain - but I just used another route and it took on 20 minutes longer to get DT- no big deal. You're against charity? Do you have any idea how much that ride raises? I think it's a great ride. How often does someone get to ride their bike on the DVP? That's the big draw of it. Have a heart...it's a huge fundraiser. |
