The 1949 (IDP) is a special licence for tourists, authorised by a UN treaty among nations of the world, for the purpose of allowing motorists to drive vehicles in international traffic without further tests or applications. It is proof that the holder possesses a valid driver's licence issued by a competent authority in their country of residence. An IDP is valid only for one year from date of issue. Each time a new IDP is required, the applicant must complete a new application form. Others A international driver's license is valid everywhere (almost) except in the country it is issued. Yes, it is valid everywhere. yes,as long as they are valid. if u r a Immigrant then NOT, If tourist YES,but belive me they dont accept in either cases,due to Insurance coverage and tricky driving system here. I am not sure where r u from i guess INDIA sorry to say NO as its totaly different driving here and even expert drivers from any country (RIGHT HAND DRIVNG) THEY CANT DRIVE HERE,as we drive on the other side of the road |
