Looking for a hotel in Toronto Theater District? |
Travel Info I'm planning on bringing my mom to Toronto in early November to see Dirty Dancing. We will be taking the train down and are looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the theater district because neither of us drive! Any suggestions for hotels would be greatly appreciated!! Travel Tips Obviously "explorer" has not been downtown in a while nor does he/she know were the theatre district is. Howard J is now the Marriott and Primrose is the a Days Inns, but those are way out of the area, there is the Holiday Inn on King, Cosmopolitan on Simcoe, Ramada at Front and Simcoe and the Rogers Dome Ramada Renaissance. By as it is not in season and if your going to a show some have packages, try booking through Expedia or Orbit.ca, sometime you can get big discounts if you do it that way, or just go to there website directly and see what is available, even the Hilton on Richmond is close and the Sheraton Center, just up from the Opera House. Start you search now as the time between the reservation and the trip can make a difference in hotel rates. I was a chef and worked in downtown Toronto over my 20+ years in the trade, and in a number of the hotels mentioned. Others Hotels.com Try www.hotels.com they let you search by landmark. http://www.pantageshotel.com/ This is the hotel I recommend. I've lived in TO for over 21 years :-) http://www.pantageshotel.com/ Its easy to get around Toronto, so i suggest you stay just outside the theater district but in the down town core. Maybe the Primrose hotel or the quality inn or the Howard Johnsons on Yonge St. You may even wish to try some of the online booking sites to get a discount. Maybe try expedia, or hotels.com Welcome to Toronto, its my home |
