Do you need a pass port for travel to canada? |
Travel Info Do you need a pass port for travel to canada? Travel Tips It depends on what country you are from. If you are an American, than no. But you do need some sort of official ID. The catch is, that next month, you'll need a passport to RETURN TO the US. So if you want to go home... Because of this, I wouldn't be surprised if Canadian border agents do not let in Americans without passports, because they don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to deport Americans. It will be interesting to watch Americans trying to return home... (Oh, and the dates vary depending on how you enter the US) Source(s): http://www.explore.canada.travel/ctc/ke/... Other Travel Tips as of january of 2007 you do apparently as off 2007 you do no need of passport but visa and agreement of canada govrnment. Actually, KT's answer was only partly right. I think it's only if you're traveling by air to Canada, then the date is January 2007. If you're arriving by car, then it's January 2008. Take a look at the following website: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbp... I'd recommend getting a passport even if you don't think you'll need one right away. Makes it smoother at the border, dont need to fuss with birth certificates and drivers licenses. I know it's expensive, but worth it in the long run. yes i need |
