Please give tips to settle in toronto-new immigrant. will appreciate if anyone can offer help in settlingdown? |
Travel Info Toronto is 1st choice to reside but can move any where. I am a retired naval officer and currently registrar of an art university and have rich background and exposure to general management and administration. Good organization and communications skills are among my strengths. Travel Tips My advice if you choose to settle in Toronto includes: - Rent a place while you get used to the city and explore the neighbourhoods. After you've had enough time (at least 10 - 12 months) to get used to the city (especially year-round), then and only then consider purchasing. - Seek out organizations to which other professionals belong to begin networking here. You could contact the University of Toronto, York University or Ryerson University to see if there are appropriate groups for you to contact. - Join a church or temple (if appropriate) and start developing connections there. - As a retiree you are probably not looking for regular employment so look into various organizations through which you can do some volunteer work. Given your background, you might want to consider offering your services to "Junior Achievement". Welcome and good luck! |
