Travel Info If an American moves to Canada which is a better place to live? Toronto or Vancouver? Travel Tips I live near Toronto and agree, there's much to do, see, etc. The job market is pretty good too. There's also a sprawling suburb, GTA (Greater Toronto Area), in which it's cheaper to live yet still close to the big smoke. (As we affectionally refer to it) However, it's true, Vancouver is beautiful, and has everything you would need. Fairly expensive to live in no matter where you are. There are a lot of opportunities for outdoor sports within a reasonable proximity (mountains, ocean). And Stanley Park is amazing. Each location has their problems, but no matter what, Canada is a fantastic place to live. But please, don't just decide to come and live in Canada because of the awesome healthcare system, as I hear SOOOOOO often from Americans. Other Travel Tips That would be your choice as they are both large cities I would always chose Vancouver only because I live in B.C That is short for BRING CASH or BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY Toronto is closer to an American city than Vancouver; but Vancouver is scenically more beautiful without a doubt, but Toronto is the pretty much the centre of Canada (yeah I know some ppl will hate me for that, but it's true) Visit both places, see which you like. Toronto has MLB, NBA, NHL, and hopefully one day NFL...until then, it's a two hour drive to Buffalo Tough call. BC is gorgeous, but Toronto has so much going on. You will need to read up on both cities and see what your priorities are. If you are really into outdoor activities, then BC for sure. If you like art and culture, Toronto for sure. I say Vancouver.. but mostly because I've lived here all my life! Vancouver is in the 'banana belt' of Canada... very moderate climate. Toronto has much more extreme weather.. colder and snowier in the winter and much hotter in the summer. Vancouver gets more rain year round, but at least you don't have to shovel it! |
