Travel Info Hi. I麓m fromBrazil. Maybe I麓m going to camp in Toronto area ( Jun or July)Do you know a nice campground there? Travel Tips http://www.toronto.ca/parks/recreation_f... This site will take you to Toronto's only camp ground and if I were you I would contact them as soon as possible to reserve the dates you want. Others Generally there isn't a campground within the general area of Toronto. The closest provincial campground is Darlington on Lake Ontario or Sibald's Point on Lake Simcoe. I'd go with Lake Simcoe. There aren't any campgrounds around Toronto, you'll have to drive out of the greater Toronto area. Two places I would recommend is Alqonquin Park, it's HUGE. Another place is Grand Bend, they're both about a two hours drive from Toronto depending on driving conditions and the driver...you'll find a huge beach on Grand Bend, but hardly anyone there, great place to make a bonfire. Check Ontario's provincial parks website www.ontarioparks.com. Not really a lot of nice camping opportunities in the Toronto area itself although there are a few conservation areas where you can go. One that comes to mind is Albion. Check out the website of the Toronto Conservation Authority for further information. Bronte Creek Provincial Park is in the city of Oakville which is about 40 kms west of downtown Toronto. Someone answering above mentioned the park at Grand Bend. Its proper name is "The Pinery". It really is a beautiful camping facility as are most of Ontario's provincial parks. |
