Travel Info Since US Congress suggested having Daylight Savings come early this year, is it possible for Canada not to go? Travel Tips It is possible, but since we have such a close relationship with the US, it is in our interest to follow in the US action. Our social, economic, trade and political relations will be closer if we follow along. We will continue to be able to synchronise our work and cultural clocks with the Americans. Besides the obvious benefits, it is also a good thing for our energy consumption bill. We will reduce the amount of hydro and oil consumed if we have more light. Others Canada is not in any way affected by U.S. laws. Yes it is, but we seem to follow whatever they do. Of course it's possible! There are even some states in the U.S. that don't use daylight savings time at all ... Arizona and Indiana are two, I believe. Saskatchewan in Canada doesn't either. However, it does appear that Canada has chosen to go ahead and institute Daylight time early as well. |
