Travel Info Which is the biggest and most important shopping mall in Toronto, ON? Travel Tips The Eaton Centre =) Others #1 the Eaton Centre #2 Yorkdale canada;s most exocitic mall would be wallmart The Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto. The Eaton Centre is most definitely the most important mall. As for the biggest, if you considered the retail space, the PATH is actually larger, however is just a network of underground walkways that connect all of the major buildings downtown. "According to Guinness World Records, PATH is the largest underground shopping complex with 27 km (16 miles) of shopping arcades. It has 371,600 sq. metres (4 million sq. ft) of retail space. In fact, the retail space connected to PATH rivals the West Edmonton Mall in size." - from toronto.ca/path. Having said all of that, I still think the Eaton Centre is more important due to the fact that is a traditional mall. I think Yorkdale is bigger than the Eaton Centre, but not quite as centrally located. For a more 'fun' shopping experience, I'd start on Queen Street at University Avenue and walk all the way to Ossington. This will take you a few hours, but on a nice day, it's perfect. You'll find most of the big name retailers like the Gap and whatnot, and more importantly, you'll also find independant retailers, vintage clothing shops, art galleries and most of Toronto's independant designers. Cruise the street, grab a icy coffee and when you see someone who you consider to have "style" just ask them where they go. They'll be flattered, and all to happy to offer help.
