Travel Tips Yes John & Richmond are part of the Downtown Core and are also at the heart of the Entertainment district. What is the downtown core? - roughly it's from Bloor St up to the harbourfront (north/south) and from Jarvis to Spadina (east/west). Basically this square area encompasses high-end shopping (i.e. Eaton's centre, shops on Bloor, Yorkville, Yonge St.) and restaurants, theatres, arenas (A.C.C. & Roger's Centre), financial district, museums, provincial gov't buildings, and educational institutions (U of T main campus & Ryerson - York University is more in the suburbs).
