Visiting Toronto alone for 4 days? |
Travel Info I will be on business alone in Toronto starting this Saturday for 4 days - any suggestions as to fun evening things to do without feeling awkward? Travel Tips You can get on the subway and go downtown. Take the subway to union station and you will be at the heart of it all. Just ask someone where the skywalk is to get to the CN tower and rogers center. If its a clear day head up the to the top of the cn tower for a birds eye view your wont ever forget. Then head down to the Hardrock cafe for dinner or lunch and take a window seat get a nice view of the inside of the skydome/rogercenter. Head back to the station an ask for directions to younge street and you can walk along there and take in the city and shops, clubs, etc etc. If you like musems get off a musem subway stop and visit the ROM. You might try a hockey game, but good luck getting tickets you will have to find someone selling there tickets outside shouting just before the game. But most of all check out www.toronto.com i know they have lots of info on toronto and seeing how you got a few days spend a few hours now and plan what you think will work for you. Others Lots of things to do. Check out some clubs along Queen Street West if you like music. Eaton Centre is a huge downtown mall. Have dinner at The Keg at Church Street and Front St. E. Check out Toronto.com Here are some attractions CN tower Sky dome Rogers centre Dundas square Eaton centre Music garden Royal Alexendra theater Hummingbird theater Clubs bars and resturants along Queen & york. yonge & Bloor Be very careful, don't carry cash, if rubbers ask for your wallet give them, don't try to be hero. Watch for Bedbugs, don't take it to your home, SO, put each of your things... short...book...laptop ...in a Plastic Bag and seal it. Watch for SARS, clean your hands wherever you touch...avoid women and clubs. Watch for Taxi Drivers, ask Hotel to call for you, BE alert at all times, leave all your values in the Hotel Safe Box. Toronto 'Intercontinental' is very different with all Intercontinental hotels that I stayed around the World, DO not use the Hotel Telephone for 'Confidential Business Issue'. Once I filed a complaint against this Hotel, and never get proper answer, they have links with police. SO, watch out! A great place to visit late at night, is around the Jane and Finch area. Lots of action to see especially if you are alone. |
