Trinis' show your age?

OK. I thing we are allowed to have some fun once in a while. So here it is. List three, or as we say in Trini - t'ree, things that can show how old you are. Here I go:
1) Diego to Town - 10 cents on the bus.

2) KFC was $5 a box.

3) You put on your Sunday best and the whole family gone to the airport to meet someone coming in. Doh forget the airport had two big ponds with fish in it. Yuh think bwee, ah mean Caribbean Airways, late now, back then if the flight coming 2 hours late you lucky.

Travel Tips
1)My parents were married around the Trinidad Brewing Company by Carib Lager Beer. I was born about 20 years after.

2)I read Moon on a Rainbow Shawl in Secondary School.

3)I remeber when Ato Baldon won the bronze medal in the 200m dash in the summer olympics of 96.

Yeah, I rememba all them tings.
Others
1) A pack of cigarettes cost $5.50.

2) In National (or the magnificent 7) was $20.00 to go in balcony.

3) Stag used to come in a short bottle.

And to be more precise about my age we became a republic in the same year I was born.

1. Stag brewery was where Grand Bazaar is now.

2. A good section of the highway going south was single LANE

3.Chubby being $1 was the hottest thing ever. Sweet drink for $1........ woy!!
Bachannal!!!!

Okay ....

1) When I was in primary school, Kalyan was the HOT band!

2) The Pizza Hut at Roxy Roundabout was a cinema showing double features.

3) I thought San Fernando Hill was a huge mountain. LOL!
I used to go watch FLIM at Astor.
I remember Budget Foods and Dollar Rescue.
I used to call the prime minister Georgie Porgie.
AVM & TTT was the only two tv stations and they used to sign off.
Ralph Maraj was on CrossCountry before he was a politician.

Who else remember apples, grapes and pears only used to come at Christmas time?

Ah cud go on fuh days............


O yeah and I had to add....I used to watch Rikki Tikki with Uncle Ian :)
yuh buying yuh weekly St. James bus ticket to get it cheaper than paying 10 cents one way per day

de big beach lime was down Carenage next to Alcoa - and remember yuh taking the bus

and Roxy was a cinema (called the theatre) in those days
