Travel Info Better yet, name the top three Calypsonians and then the top three Soca artists (Considerating the fact that Soca has evolved so much that they are really no longer comparable) Travel Tips Top three... Girl you put a man on the spot there... These days calypsonians don't shine like they used to but my picks would be 1. Kitchener 2. Sparrow 3. Pretender 4. Merchant 5. Nelson 6. Cro Cro 7. Chalkdust 8. Shadow and all de rest after... For Soca Artistes 1. Machel Montano - The Tai Pan of Soca ............. and den anybody else... lol! But maybe the rest could be 2. Shurwayne Winchester 3. Destra Garcia 4. Iwer George 5. Allyson Hinds 6. Krosfyah 7. Nadia Batson (I give her props cause although she only start singing recently, she's been writing NO 1 hits for years) 8. Bunji and his wife 9. Maximus Dan I saw a number of people list David Rudder under Soca and Calypso but the truth is... David Rudder is in a league all by himself.... There has been an ongoing dispute for years about what his style of music should be termed. I don't think he sings either of the genres so I not even going to put my foot in my mouth and try to define him. I can say though that he has been higly successful with his own calibre of music Others Shurwayne Winchester is a talent less *** n he sings the same song every year only white ppl n idiots like him 1.
