Is the price of Houses too expensive in Trinibago? |
Travel Info All yuh here wa going on. With them prices I saving my money, a buying a rollon rolloff car, and ah ha no choice but to go back and live by mummy and daddy. Ah in ma thirties but hell if I is to pay $2m for a 2 bedroom shack in Trini. Travel Tips Lord I know the feeling ........ I'm in the same boat ........ But I've just got the car and i already have the land in Palmiste but I can't afford to even put up a brick. Others I agree wit you breds! Housing home is ridiculous. Part of the problem is that everyone has to live in a house. Serious talk, when you guys were in primary school did ANYONE live in an apartment? Until those high rises build by West Mall and the Maloney housing projects fiasco, where were there apts to rent in Trinidad?? The real estate industry has the complete monopoly on the housing situation in Trinidad. Hear how dese thiefs does operate. This is commercial property but same story. Daddy is a dental surgeon and he was renting this space for his office right? Thirteen years he was there eh! Jus so, jus so the landlord decide he want he space back. No problem, Daddy just need to start looking for a new space ent? So said landlord suggests a place that Daddy might be interested in so Daddy do up the contract and ting and was waiting for approval. Turns out the landlord owned the property Daddy was trying to buy too (the one that he innocently suggested......eh heh!) and the wretch triple the rent on the original office space until the deal finalize. Now I understand business is business eh, but that is jus bad mind man! I hearing all yuh. My dream has always been to go back home and "settle", but it looking like all yuh gyul can afford is to squat on de beach somewhere oui! I saw an ad for a house in Arima on the Express for 1.7 MILLION dollars! (US to boot eh!) If yuh see de little marasmee piece ah house! Steups.... Yes they are too expensive - the best bet for young people is to sign up for those NHA houses - i tried looking at them on their website, but unfortunately if you're a returning resident or someone who never worked at home you don't have an NIS number. Some of the neighborhoods aren't too bad actually. http://www.housing.gov.tt/hafs.htm... "... I is to pay $2m for a 2 bedroom shack in Trini." ... I would not pay two million for a two bedroom shack in Trinidad either. Everything has gone up ... imagine is $3.00 sometimes $4.00 for a coconut 'rong de savannah. That actually is a 100% increase in price. Kingfish is $19.00 ... sometimes $23.00 a pound ... A loaf of bread is $6.00 ... Ah went in a Sportsbar de udder day an' dey want tuh charge meh $17.00 for a beer. Just de udder day I buy a Carib fuh $7.00 ... ... de point is everything gorn up ... in trinidad and tobago the house will be a lot more eaiser to buy a house than in the US for a one bed room house plus land is about 70.000tt this is about 11.500US |
