What is a "washikong"?

Travel Info
My girlfriend's mum was from Trinidad and Tobego, so I know that it is from the T and T dialect somewhere. I also know it may or may not be a kind of shoe...

Any help would be fantastic, and I would especially love to hear from those who have any images of a potential Washikong for me to view :)

Thanks in advance!

~Dan

Oh Lard!! Boy tha was the hit back in the day when yuh was 6 years old. I was vex my mother never wanted me to wear that.

We used to refer to a brown or black canvas shoe that Bata (Trinidad) would sell. Canvas top, rubber bottom. Every school boy had them, except for me. :-(
