What are some nonverbal signals in trinidad?

Travel Info
i need to know appropriate dress and different gestures and thier meanings

Travel Tips
ummm, most gestures are the same as those in north america and europe. for instance, a handshake when at a business meeting etc.
we tend to kiss ppl on one or both cheeks when meeting them if they are family, good friends or elderly ppl. this gesture is not appropriate for complete strangers.
when ppl form their hand into a fist and say sumthing like "gimme a bounce", or extend their fist towards you, you are supposed to fist your hand as well and touch their fist lightly with it. The action is called a 'bounce' and is practised among friends..ppl hardly do that to tourists, esp if the tourist is here on business.
ppl hug each other a lot too....

wear whatever would be comfortable for u in a tropical climate...no wool or thick fabrics as it will just make u feel hotter. we have the same dress code as most places in North America, eg.elegant for dinners or balls, elegantly casual if going to a restaurant.....

don't worry too much if u are unfamiliar with a particular word or gesture...trinbagonians are very hospitable, warm and friendly and we will understand if you are not familiar with certain expresions indigenous to our beautiful country. just relax and have a great stay:)
