Travel Tips ditto to what everyone said... plus, i gotta add my own part of this question. why does everyone think that the caribbean only has sun, sea and sand? c'mon, look at trinidad, we're relatively developed... Others Because they are ignorant. Because that's how they're portrayed in movies/music videos. Your Caribbean women should wear grass skirts anyway, that's hot. we don't it's just wishfull thinking:) Too many Gilligan's Island reruns, not enough school. i would have to say that the media is most likely responsible for these images due to those movies and tv shows like survivor depicting a lone island with a half-naked guy trying to make a living with absolutely nothing not to mention the commercials like "go to jamaica" or other island showing the type of people you described Unfortunately, some have even less. Ever visit the non-tourist parts of Jamaica? How about Haiti? Sorry, but I felt I had to bring that up. |
