Red-background: represents the vitality of the land and people,warmth of the sun,courage and friendliness.
White- outer stripes: representing the bountiful sea, purity of aspirations,and equality of all men.
Black- inner stripe: representing strength, unity and purpose, natural resourses ie: oil,asphalt(pitch)

black, white, and red.

The flag of Trinidad and Tobago consists of three colors: a RED background, with a BLACK diagonal stripe going from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. on each side of the black stripe, it is bordered by a WHITE thinner stripe. check it out in the links..
