Tunisia, skanes whats it like? |
Travel Info Tunisia, skanes whats it like? Travel Tips Skanes is part of the city of Monastir. At one point in history they used to be separate cities, but with time and expansion, they have merged into one. Skanes is where most of the hotels are located, and also where the Monasir Airport is. It is the halfway point between Sousse and the actual city of Monastir. Your experience at the hotels will vary depending on what hotel you stay at, what you do, and of course what your expectations are when you get there. The beaches are wonderful! In the actual city of Monastir you will be able to find the mausoleum of the first president of Tunisia, Habib Bourguiba. You should also visit the Ribat, which is open for tourists to visit, holds plays at nights during the summer, and was the filming location for the Italian Life of Christ and Monty Pythons Life Of Brian. If you'd like information on good restaurants or caf茅s to visit, let me know and I can pass that information on to you. Since you will be so close to Sousse, I suggest you head over there for nighttime entertainment. Monastir is a small city and very quiet. Sousse on the other hand is big and full of many restaurants, discos, etc. We here in Monastir always head over to Sousse when we are looking for a night out. If you update your question to include the hotel you are going to stay at I will be more than happy to give you information on it. Here are some pictures I took of Monastir about 2 years ago if you would like to see them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamie_hasse...
