Travel Info I JUST GOT MARRIED AND LOOKING FOR A HOUSE TO RENT BUT NOT SHER WERE TO LOOK i HAVE NT BEEN ABLE TO FINDE ONE. Travel Tips You can call or visit an immoblier (real estate agent) and they will be able to help you. The only downside to that is that each agency deals with different properties, and they also take a fee for doing their work. Because the immobliers take a sur charge from the one wishing to sell/rent also, people hike up the prices accordingly. You can look in the papers, in the monthly real estate magazine, or in postings on the small shops and in the markets. In my opinion, your best best bet is to drive around and look on your own. You will find pleny of house that have a sign that says "A Louer" which means "for rent", or "A Vendre" which means for sale. When you see a house that you like, contact the person directly by calling the number listed on the sign. You are allowed to try to bargain with the price, and I suggest that you do. Also, prices are more expensive during the summer months because of supply and demand (a lot of people come to Tunisia in the summer and look for houses to rent or buy during that time). Keep in mind that the more amenities the house has, the higher the price will be. Do you want central heating or no? Do you want gaz du ville or gaz that you buy in a bottle? Do you want air conditioning or not? What city do you want to live in? Do you want a great view or does it not matter? How good a neighborhood do you want to live in? What part of town do you want to live in? Do you want it furnished or unfurnished? All these play a factor in the price. If I can be of more assistance, please feel free to contact me.
