Is it really necessary to have the typhoid jab when going on holiday to Tunisia? |
Travel Info We are only going for 1 week and staying in a 4* hotel. Travel Tips No. There are no Required Vaccinations for travel to Tunisia unless you are coming from an area with Yellow Fever. Typhoid is only a recommended vaccine, but not necessary, especially since 99% of the population drinks bottled mineral water - although there is nothing wrong with the tap water either. When I moved from America to Tunisia I didn't take any vaccines and I was/am fine. You can read all the latest info on the website for the Centers for Disease Control. http://www.cdc.gov/travel/nafrica.htm#va... Source(s): Have been living in Tunisia 5+ years http://360.yahoo.com/jamie_hassen... http://www.cdc.gov/travel/nafrica.htm#va... Other Travel Tips No, you are not in the least bit of danger from typhoid. The water here is drinkable, though I would suggest bottled water if you are just visiting for a week. Tunisia is a safe, clean country and there are no required vaccinations. (I'm a Brit who is living in Tunisia). No need at all. I RECOMMAND YOU TO HAVE VACC陌NATION BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER KNOW WHAT W陌LL HAPPEN. NEW COUNTRY NEW BACTER陌A . JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE S陌DE. Good morning Mrs Topogy, hi every body..! I'm answering your question for the 2nd time, just to wish a you a wonderful holidays in Tunisia, and like you to feel secure and comfortable about this country you are may be visiting for the first time. Anyhow,if you'r still not convinced,or still hesitating,it will be up to you to decide if you should have the typhoid jab or not only to feel much more comfortable. The travel consultant. |
