Buying a house in Sousse, Tunisia? |
Travel Info Thankyou all for your help to my previous question about the cost of renting a 1/2 bedroom house in Sousse,Tunisia, especially 'Hassan'. Could you tell me if these prices are the same monthly if you are buying the property! Thankyou once again. Travel Tips First off, let me explain that my other account HASSEN got suspended by my "troll", so this is my new account. Second, if you buy a house, you will pay more monthly because you will most likely need a loan, which means that with every payment, some goes to equity, and some goes to principal, and most loans are issued for about 5-10 years, so the payments can be steep. My husbands brother pays about 700TDN a month for his condo (smaller and less expensive than ours) and I think his loan is for close to 10 years. We pay over 1200TDN a month, but out loan is only for 5 years (my husband didn't want to keep paying interest, and interest goes up the longer it takes you to pay. Basically, it's the same as if you were in your home country buying a house, almost the same rules apply. If I can be of more help, feel free to contact me. **PS. I took a look at the website Kelly suggested and the prices on there are too high! I'm not saying Kelly is responsible for them, but when I checked the website, and verified the prices with people that live in the places advertised, they all told me they paid a lot less** Source(s): Have been living in Tunisia 5+ years http://360.yahoo.com/jamie_hassen... Other Travel Tips Hi Connie, take a look at the website www.thetunisianhouse.co.uk this is the website of my good friend Melanie, she sells and rents houses and apartments in Tunisia, if you email her she will supply you with all the information for buying a house. Good luck, Can I say that I am not responsible for the website nor the prices and therefore do not know if they are high or not, Hassen (tunisanbelle) youv'e been a great help to me in the past but please do not vote this post because you do not agree with the prices on the website, this is very unfair and emailing me about the prices is also uncalled for, you may be passionate about Tunisia but please do not try and cross everyone else that wants to help.
