What is accommodation in Tunisia like?

I have a friend travelling to Tunisia in two weeks, without reserving accommodation!!
Is this as foolhardy as I think, or will it be easy for her to find a good hotel without first booking?

Right in the period that your friend is coming it is borderline. Before mid April it is actually better not to have reservations.

It is still a bit early for the big tourist rush, which means that hotels are offering competitive rates and you friend can basically shop around, and find a hotel that matches their needs and price range.

If your friend was going to come after mid-April then a reservation would be advisable as hotels tend to fill up fast.
