Travel Tips they prefer dollars but if you pay in Turkish lira it will be cheaper. 1 dollar=1,33 lira Others I'd say turkish lira. if you are in turkey but it is true that some prefer dollars turk lira would be the better choice Major of them accept turkish lira, us dollar, euros, gbp and visa. You may need turkish lira for very small shops which located far from touristic places. as long as you give em cash, they arent fussy! Shops like Gold Shops, Carpet Shops, Leather Shops, etc... where you will purchase over 100 sterlings goods, they would gladly accept foreign currency as they will give your change back in Turkish money. But if you are buying water and gum, expect to be asked for Turkish lira.... |
