Hi i am going to marmaris in turkey has any one been there could you tell me your experiance? |
Travel Info we are stayin in the club anastasia and we are takin our 3 year old Travel Tips Marmaris sometimes gets a bad press, as the atmoshpere is getting tailored to a very British market, which does not appeal to everyone. However, there is still plenty of Turkish flavour, and there's plenty of variety if you are prepared to venture beyond your hotel. The main areas of bars and restaurants are the Marina / Bar Street end, and the Long Beach area. However, my favourite area is not Marmaris, but neighbouring I莽meler. A short minibus trip for about 40p will take you there. It's quieter, and I like the beach better there. You'll also find that in I莽meler, everything quietens down at around midnight - all music is turned right down. If you have a 3 year old, you probably won't be looking for clubs, but there are lots of nice restaurants to try. All the 'hasslers' outside will try to tempt you in to theirs, but don't be afraid to just say a straight no thank you, or just tell them you've eaten already. If you say 'maybe tomorrow', they will hassle you twice as much the next night! You're sure to find something in the Marmaris area that you like, but as someone's mentioned you could also take a taxi boat to Turunc for a change. I wish you a very nice holiday in Marmaris. The Turkish people love to be hospitable, so if you take an interest in their food, language or customs, they are sure to adopt you!! Others yes its great while your there you MUST go to the market and haggle you get great bargins and you have to have a turkish bath they are fantastic! I went there 7 years ago and had a brilliant time. As the other answerer said a turkish bath is a must, also try and go to Turtle beach it is beautiful and your 3year old will love seeing all the baby turtles. try Turunc to breathe a little you can also take a tour4 to the mudbath.for the junior dont let him under sunshine too much. Ah.....Marmaris, i see the katamarans in Rhodes, and I am ready to jump inside to go, but my friends in this moment are not there... I reeally love it..It is green, wonderful. For sea, you have to do a cruise in the opened sea, because the beach of Marmaris is overcriweded. People are very nice, helpful, and you can do your shopping also in Tansas, it has everything. There is also a commercial centre very luxury, but expensive. Eat swetts at Yavuz patisserie, and take dolmus to go to Icmeler, and Turunc.Visit also the city of Mugla, very nice, with beautiful houses.. I advise you to eat at mudurnu.Very quick service, good food, and very economic.. Enjoy it, i go 3 times per year, and I really know it very well We had a lot of fun there...however the beach isn't soft white sand...there are rocks as you go into the water -- I would buy water shoes... The Club Anastasia is a great choice. But i hope u will not spend all your time there. Please note down; Turun莽 Bozburun Turgut K枚y眉 Dalyan 陌ztuzu Beach G枚cek Sar谋germe are the MUST-SEE places neither by dolmus(cheap mini-bus) nor rent a car(better for your 3 y/o kid). Please do not hesitate to mail me if u need more info/advice. Also we will be in Marmaris with our 1 y/o daughter on 19th to 26th May. Best wishes... |
