hey, im going to turkey soon and i just need to know a few things like, what is their currency, wats the exchange rate like? how much could i get for say a pounds worth, like say its 1 pound to 50, is 50 alot over there? or will 50 get me nothing? any other info would be great, the place im going to is called mamarus(sp?) thanks!

going their soon too, its not as cheap as it used to be. it varies u can get a turkish beer (efes) for as little as 60p & other brands as much as 拢3 they have lira, it changed to new lira. not as many 000s printed on it. i would say look b4 u buy.

If you can find EFES is not as cheap as it used to be but they now brew a beer called Marmara Gold buy in 1litre bottles for around 3.50ytl well worth it.
Don't buy wine with meals crazy price in Turkey stick to the local beer (Carlsburg is brewed in Turkey).

Try Pide and Lahmacun (sorry about spelling) cheap, filling a very good.
