"Best" way to get from Izmir to Ephesus? |
Travel Info I have just one free day in Izmir, and while I am sure it is a nice city in its own right, I would very much like to see Ephesus. I will be free starting first thing in the morning, and then I have to catch a flight out that night - how can I get to and from Ephesus quickly and relatively cheaply (I realize there might be a tradeoff there!). Thanks! Travel Tips Gee I don't know how you could do that really (I'm talking about road ) because it is a fair distance away. You would have to fly in and out I would have thought, I may be wrong. Ask your travel agent or any tourist operator in Turkey they may have a suggestion. When I was there it took about 4 or 5 hours by car one way, I may be wrong and that was quite some years ago and the roads may be better now, but still the distance to me is going to be a problem regardless of road and traffic conditions. Others I think this will be just too time prohibitive to do in one day --Ephesus is fantastic, do not miss it! When I went to Ephesus, I landed in Kusadasi, then took a bus to the site, and flew out about 10PM that night from Izmir to Istanbul, it's at least 3 to 4 1/2hrs. to get to Izmir, so be careful here. it is hard but worth trying you can try hitchhiking but be careful :) |
