No specific attitude, turkish people are friendly in general, no problems for you. But in every part of the world there are certain risks associated with travelling alone. Otherwise, enjoy! Beware of the kurdos though. EDIT:I wonder what kind of a person would give thumbs down to this??? Oh, it was probably an armofo! 14 hours is impossible unless you take 3-4 long breaks. If you drive non-stop, you should be able to reach there in no more than 8 hours. The road to Ankara from Istanbul is huge thus you can make the journey easily in 4 hours. The rest is another 4 hours tops. Turkey is generally female and American friendly. As long as you do not go to the east, you should be fine. Avoid walking in the dark back alleys at night :) As a female traveler, you should pay the same attention that you would in any other country... The chimneys are great.. You'll love the place..
