Travel Tips got married on the boat.... the captain was our registry officer :)) it was lovely... he proposed me after 2 years when we were on holiday... Others not yet darling... i hav a life to live ya know... but if i do da ona day i go to las vegas ..... :D I'm not married but my bf proposed me for 2 times..First one was with SMS message, the other was yesterday, with MSN. I know these are not romantic but we live in different cities..And we will wait about 9-10 years to marry :-) I just got married a few weeks ago. We've known each other a little over a year. I knew I wanted to marry him pretty soon after we started dating, and he says he knew even before we started dating! Here's the funny thing: he never really asked me to marry him. I don't even remember who first brought it up or when; it was all just very natural and feels like we were talking about it from the beginning, saying casual things like "When we get married,....." We went shopping for the engagement ring together. We were at a very nice restaruant overlooking the water with a full moon present. After dinner we went out back to where they had a fire pit you could sit around. He pulled out my ring and asked me right there. It was very romantic! Still together after 25 years! Neither of us proposed. Marriage was just something we decided to do. I wanted to join his family and share his last name, so we both thought it was a wonderful idea. As crazy as that sounds, our marriage license is not so important to us. We were already committed to each other before the ceremony, and that is all that matters to us. We actually celebrate our "First Date" anniversary more lavishly than our marriage anniversary. ^_^ For reference, we have been together for nearly 9 years now, married for 6 1/4 years. We'd been dating for almost three years and went to New Orleans for a weekend just to get away. We were strolling along the river-walk when he pulled me aside. He reaches in his pocket and pulls out a little porcelain, heart-shaped box that said "Be Mine" on it. (I collect those little porcelain boxes, so it was perfect.) He told me that this was the most important box he would ever give me. He opened it and the ring was inside. He then went on to say all the mushy stuff and asked me to marry him. I said yes, of course, and we've been married for 3 years. |
