Money exchange?

Travel Info
we are going to Turkey for the first time this month and was wondering whether it was better to change English money here or there

Travel Tips
It is always better to exchange money where you will go. do NOT use exchange stores or banks to exchange cash. Instead it is the cheapest to use your atm card. When you exchange at a place, you often pay higher than the real rate. It turns out to be 15% - 20% higher than what you should be paying. When you use an ATM card to obtain cash the fee is between 1% and 2%. With credit cards it is at the most 3%. (I think some cards like Capital one make it free)

Anyways I write a lot about traveling to europe on my blog. It is geared towards backpacking (I am not sure if you are backpacking or not) but it also has a lot of general helpful tips for travelers. You can check it out if you like

here for sure!!!!!
exchange some right now so you have something when you go there
Over there, because they may accept dollars/pounds over there, because I've been to countries before and they do accept dollars, according to the price in the country.

EXAMPLE: Mexico: 6 pesos = 1 dollar. Shirt costs 20 pesos. You give cashier $2 and something cents.

Just incase, exchange some money HERE first, so if the thing that I told you doesn't work over there, then you still have cash on you.
When I have traveled I never got money in advance. I just went to an ATM machine and withdrew what I needed. That is where you will get the best exchange rates. Try to charge most of your purchases.
I always find that its better to use an English service to change money, If your in a tourist area on your holiday, they will charge you more for the conversion because they can! Your in a foreign country and there is no other choice so they get you!!! If you have to use a cash machine abroad, make it worth it as the charges are high. Take out a fairly large amount if you need only a small amount, just in case and of course keep it safely hidden from pickpockets and such! The post office is good for changing currencies I believe but shop around a bit.
My line of work.
