Do you think Turkey should help? |
Travel Info I have just learned from another question that there is a great forest fire in the south of Cyprus. A lot of beautiful villages where they grow apples, plums and grapes etc. are buring. Savvas said that the smoke has gone down to the seaside city of Limassol (my former hometown). When I read the news, it hurt me a lot. Do you think North Cyprus and Turkey should offer to help put out the fire? Fire engines and special planes? In 1995, we had a great forest fire in the north and Greek Cypriots offered to help but Denkta艧 refused it. Travel Tips Yes, as a resident of North Cyprus, I think we should all do our bit to preserve and take care of this beautiful island and each other. Our environment and the natural produce we use to live on is not a matter for politicians to split hairs over - at the end of the day we are all members of the human race and at some point we should let go of the past and work together for a bright future. Others Yeah of course but turkish firefighters are too busy putting out forest fires started by kurds so I am not sure if it is possible . The British should help. They have a base down there don't they? Definitely YES!!! This is not a matter of politics or recognition of one side by another. This is about humanity and neighbourship!!! Denkta艧 messed up becuse of personal ego problems and this is not the time and place fo it anymore!!!! Mustafa abi, people of Northern Cyprus has to demand the government to offer help. At least, protest fiercely so that next time the government knows that their attitute about crisis management need alteration. Bear in mind that it can be your turn who need help next time.. yes The subject here is not nations it is humanity. And we have seen this during those earthquakes happened in Turkey and Greece. They helped eachother because they were not Greeks and Turks,they were simply human. That's why,yes. ofcourse and I am sure we will..... nice question by the way, thanks for asking.... |
