Side, Turkey, any info would be appreciated :-)? |
Travel Info Hi, I am off to Side in Turkey for just one week(next week) and would really appreciated any tips on what to see and do. I will be with my daughter who's only 9yrs old so please no tips on nightclubs!!!! Hubby can't come as he will be working so if anyone knows of water parks,zoo's,fun trips etc. Had a peek at trip advisor but not really got any info of what kids would like there. Thanks :-) Travel Tips instead of just referring you to another travel site with all of the usual promotional material, I see that you've already done that. The fact is, Side does not have anything which would be of special interest to a young girl like your daughter unless she is into ruins, historic sites or natural beauty like the nearby Manavgat waterfalls. Although she might enjoy meandering through the huge marketplace, that leaves you with the lovely beaches but not much in the way of the kinds of things which might otherwise be entertainment. At this time of year, Side will be crowded. I hope you will find it interesting, lots of fascinating history but whether that will suit your daughter is something only you would know. Others Side (pronounced see-deh), is a beautiful coastal resort on the Mediterranean. It is approximately 15kms east of Antalya (one of Turkey鈥檚 largest cities) and is located on a small peninsula only 800m in length. In this pretty town, modern architecture, chic shops and late night bars stand in juxtaposition with the ruins of an ancient city. Flanked by two stretches of golden beach, surrounded by the sparkling waters of Mediterranean on both sides and bestowed with the endless archeological wonders 鈥?Side has aptly prospered as one of the most popular resorts for holidaymakers from across the globe. Water sport can be delightful times pass particularly the parasailing. If you enjoy shopping, come to Manavgat or walk up and down the bordering streets. Bargain a little and then buy what you find fascinating 鈥?candles, glass balls with snow and ice bears, penguins, Turkish coffee making equipments or handicrafts like carpets, jewellery and leather goods. Party fans can go to the bars and discos near the harbor or visit the most popular hangout in the coast 鈥?Oxyd. There is no formal air to the nightlife of Side 鈥?so enjoy! If you want to get away from the hustle-bustle of the urban life, go for a solitary night walk amidst the ruins or along the beaches. I was in Side and it was lovely,but hot... :) If you are going to go to the hotel that i stayed (Crystal Admiral),it will be good for your daughter to be there...She will get a lot of fun there and she will have a chnace to swim,to run,play,sleep,etc.It is up to your hotel,and i know that hotels are far from center of the Side...But i think you will have a lot of fun in your hotel,because they are really organised to be enjoyed.... |
