Going to Turkey, Marmaris next week any tips?

Travel Info
First time to Turkey, Taking 拢100 in lira for first couple of days, then do you suggest using a halifax debit card and with drawing cash or taking pounds and exchanging it with money changers (heared they always rip you off a few pounds.)
Also how much is it to eat out?
Any other tips or info would be most welcome!

Thanks :-)

Travel Tips
Hi Julie,

Something About Marmaris,

This sweet resort town located on a peninsula where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean, is surrounded by a pine-wooded landscape. It has a harbor sheltered with lush foothills and long sun-drenched beaches surrounding its bay.

The ancient city of Phykos existed where Marmaris is located now. There are various Grecian ruins nearby , as well as fascinating Lycian tombs. There are few remains apart from those of the small 16th. century fortress, an old bridge and a Caravanserai.

About Your Question,

1 拢 = 2,70 YTL and 100 拢 = 270 YTL

And think, for lunch , Fish, salad and coke or beer = 20 YTL (almost)

Have a nice trip and Welcome

tanju abi is right above

but i think you can have a lunch for 5 ylt (sandwich plus something to drink) or 10 ylt (pizza, etc.) or 250 ytl (in a lux restaurant)

all depends on the type of food and place you go

have fun in marmaris
turkey is an okay place. not really friendly to some but their country is okay. eating out actually doesnt cost so much. be cautious when riding in taxis. they're really crazy sometimes. hmm...dont go to bad places or out alone or anything, but thats the always the usual recomendation when going to another country. if your looking for a nice hotel they will have them in the bigger named cities. but may i suggest that you visit mersin. very beautiful city. you can get hotels right on the med. sea. they might not be really good hotels but trust me you sure wont care. just make sure its a 3 or 4 star hotel. i forgot the name of one but it was excellent. trust me its a good place. so is dyarbecker. have fun in turkey. stay safe!
Hope you have a wonderful time. My sister preferred it to the Caribbean! She said the ocean was stunning, plenty to do and the food cheap.
Well you picked a great place , Marmaris is lovely not my favourite as it's too busy and I like to veg out on my hols lol. I have always (well hubby has) taken cash and just got it changed as and when I need it but your right you have to be so careful we only ever use the oracle travel shop have always got a great rate and never been ripped off in 10 years. Don't let street money changers drag you in with a good rate you could crap out your holiday . Have a good time
