Is Turkey secure for tourists? |
Travel Info I'm travelling there next june, I want to know how's everything ow regarding security issues. As I've heard, last year there were still some bomb attacks in cities like Istanbul and Antalya... pls let me know your opinion.... Travel Tips As a foreigner living in Turkey I deffinatly would have to say that Turkey is a safe country. With the exception of southeastern cities. Those attacks are VERY rare. Since those areas are by the border or Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Turkey, as a gov't, does alot to keep the country safe. Places over in the west are even more safe. Especially with over 25 million visitors. And just like any other place in the world there are is going to be crime, especially in cities as big as istanbul (17 mill) and izmir (4陆 mill). But the police force in Turkey is very good. You just need to watch out, like ANYWHERE else in the world, at night. Others Hi, I was there three times and everything was good. I like this country, everything is done for tourists. I felt safely there! Don`t be afraid)))) It is as safe as most places in Europe. All reasonable precautions stand. Be extra careful if you are traveling in East or South-East Turkey. Yes, it's secure. I visited last year and felt very safe all the time. So the answer is yes! Hope you'll have a great time in Turkey! I can assure you that it is safer then New York and any other city in USA . hope you have a nice time during your visit |
