How difficult are the highschools in Turkiye? How does it compare to highschools in the US?

Travel Tips
I don't know about high-schools in the US, but as a former high school teacher in Turkey I can say that our curricula is way too loaded, and that may explain why others have said that it's more difficult than the US.

And, of course difficult never means better. Teachers in Turkey always complain about having to teach too many skills at once (less time&less practice) because students do not always internalize what they learn and that results in rote learning. But there are some changes being done in the curricula. High-school education lasts for 4 years now, and the curricula is now distributed to 4 years while before the same or even heavier curricula had to be achieved in 3 years.
There are still many problems of course. I was not satisfied with the changes made in the high-school program. But I guess, teachers never get satisfied with what they have to teach, as they know it can always be modified for better and look for different ways of increasing the quality of their teaching and education in general.

Also, we have different type of high-schools for students with different abilities and interests. And for instance, Anatolian or Science high schools are very good and welcome only high-achieving students. They are very high quality, and aim at achieving a more challenging curricula.

Although I cannot compare Turkish high schools to the ones in the USA, I think this can give you an idea about Turkish high schools in Turkey. Source(s): Former high-school teacher.

Irmak; don't be afraid. You will be fine at high school. I wish I had students like you who are well aware of what's going on around them and it's so obvious that you're smart, it shows in your answers. Good luck :)

Other Travel Tips
Apparently the public schools in the US can't teach people how to spell.

Across the board the US public schools don't keep up with other countries. They fall off the chart by about 4th grade. So you will probably do yourself or your child a favor by going to high school in Turkey. Unless of course you are in a good private school in the US. Private is better if you can afford it.
According to the USA , yes it can be a bit difficult. The system and the cirriculum is totally different.

so good luck
For example history lesson is much harder than US.
I mean our history is more than 4000 years. But US history is 200 years. I can say only history lesson is 20 times harder than US.
Have nice day .
i dont know about usa but in uk high school maths much more easier than turkish high schools maths.. i looked uk math books for high schools very easy
The turkish high-schools are the best, but the problem is that it's much too selective...

In Turkey, it's quite complicated to be graduated in high school than in USA or France, that's why there are much more students in US and french universities...
Turkish education ministery should give more opportunities to all the young students.

Education should be develloped to a maximal level, because Turkey's power is in the youth's hands...
