I am thinking about going to Turks and Caicos this February and I was wondering if anyone had any advice what time of year was best to go and is there much to do for kids ages 16, 12, and 11?

February is a really lovely time to go and the weather is just about perfect -- not too hot and a lovely balmy breeze. It is also the season for whale watching -- off Grand Turk and North Caicos. How much your family enjoys the experience is a matter of how keen they are on beaches and finding their own amusements. There are some excursions you can go on (water based and expensive, especially with so many of you to pay for), but the charm of the islands as a tourist resort lies in the fact that there are no rowdy amusements about the place and you can enjoy snorkelling, bird watching and exploring the wonderful beaches. Most tourists visit Providenciales (Provo for short), which is where most of the activity (such as it is) takes place.
