Travel Tips
Lye, i understand you are having an employment visa hence you have to leave the country as an OFW. Every Filipino planning to work abroad is required to register as OFWs.

If you are in Manila, pay a visit to POEA and ask for the immigration documents they require. They would probably need a copy of your contract, visa, ticket details so they can advise you which documents to submit to them.

__They will definitely need your medical reports (they will tell you which hospitals are accredited to give medical exams for employment abroad). The medical exam consists of a psychological, dental and physical exam.
__You also have to attend PIDOS. It is basically a seminar for life abroad. After the seminar, you will be given a certificate of attendance.

After completing all documents, POEA will register you accordingly and will give you departure consent along with a certificate. In the airport, you have to register once again in the OFW pre-departure counter and you don't have to pay the P500 travel tax.

These procedure requires a lot of money (roughly around 5-10K) and time, patience, strong will on your side since you will be processing on your own. You can keep your employer a tab on the costs so she can help you out with the expenses.

Please note also that in agreement by Philippines and UAE, the minimum age for you to be able to work in UAE as a housemaid is 23.
Others
While you are still in the Philippines you don't have to do anything. Just take care that your passport is still valid for 3 more month minimum. Your sponsor has to provide you with the right entry permit to the UAE. You have to let your sponsor know your flight details in advance and the visa can be picked up at the immigration department of the airport you are flying in. Some airlines require a copy of the visa in advance. You have to check this out with the airline.

After you arrive here your sponsor needs the following:

An e-form application filled and signed by the sponsor. This will cost Dh100.
A copy of the his passport.
A copy of your passport.
Three passport photos of you
An official labour contract (approved and signed by your embassy here in the UAE) signed by you and by the sponsor.
Copy of the work contract of the sponsor, with salary certificate.

When you arrive in the country, you must undergo a health check-up at a government hospital in the emirate where the visa was issued. The cost of the medical check-up is Dh1,200.

This should be done before applying for the residence visa.
You will then receive your health card.

You will also be taken for an iris scan and fingerprinting at the police headquarters of the emirate. The residence visa must be stamped on the domestic helper's passport within 60 days from the date of the person's entry into the country.

You do not mention in which Emirate you will work. Therefore:

Each emirate has its own rules for issuing visas for housemaids and nannys. Some emirates will not issue visas for certain nationalities. Check with the department first.

According to the labour contract, a sponsor can change his or her domestic helper within three months without paying the fees again.

In the case of a dispute between the sponsor and the domestic helper, the sponsor has the right to cancel the visa of the domestic helper and impose a one-year ban, if the sponsor can prove that the domestic helper has broken the law.

Please note that the wages for Fillipina housemaids got raised to Dhs 1.470 monthly. For more information on that, go to: http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/07/...

All visa costs have to be paid by your sponsor deducting them from your salary is against the Labor Law.
