What to do in Dubai in just a day??

Hey all,
just wanna know if anyone have any suggestion on what I can do in Dubai since i have to stop over for just one day in Dubai b4 continuing my flight journey.
And is it possible for me to get out of the airport and tour the city for a few hours? anyone..??? thanx!!

Just a day? You will loose half a day in Airport Ques and the remaining half day in the deadly traffic even before you reach the city center from the airport. What else to do in a day?

If you plan for a week or atleast for 4 days stay, you have lots and lots of fun in Dubai. Its, for sure, heaven for the tourists. Now a days Dubai has attractions for the families with children too.

Transit Visas
This is a special type of visa which applies to passengers passing through UAE airports.

For those who will travel Emirates Airlines can be arrange by the airlines itself. But for those flying through another Airlines, they have to contact directly the Marhaba Services, the details of which are as follows:

Passengers can travel without prior arrangement of transit visa. As soon as they arrive at the airport they have to approach any of the Marhaba staff and they will be guided to the Marhaba Visa counter for any arrangement.

Passengers planning to go on the city tours have to approach the City Tours Desk in the Arrivals Lounge to make a booking for one of the several tours on offer against a nominal fee ranging from Dhs 95 - Dhs 115 for adults and Dhs 65 for children. This facility will be granted on a case-by-case basis. The visa is issued free but the tour service is chargeable as above.

If you do not want to go on an organized City tour, take a cab and visit one of the malls like Ski Dubai in Emirates Mall, Mercato Mall or Ibn Butta Mall. Depending what time you will arrive, also a visit of the Souq at Dubai Creek would be nice, but please be aware o different opening hours. Maube you would like to visit the Gold or Spice Souq or just enjoy a relaxing time at Madinat Jumairah.

Anyways... for visa contact EMIRATES AIRLINES if your flying w/ them or else for all other airlines... contact directly the Marhaba Services, the details of which are as follows:

If this doesn鈥檛 work. Than please do contact the airline ur flying with... or else the UAE Embassy for information on visas.

Ok now let me tell u... what 2 do when u Wanna see
(DUBAi in a DAY!)

1- Remember, you don鈥檛 have much time, so do the least time-wasting stuff...

2- Take a taxi, & head to Jumeirah SOUK Madinat: styled on a traditional souk (albeit one with air conditioning) the Madinat is a maze of crafts shops & boutiques鈥?.. it鈥檚 better than going2de local souks, where the 110F weather will kill the fun :)

Than when ur done shopping' the traditional stuff... head to
(Only if your pocket allows)

3- Visit the Icon of Dubai...Burj al Arab the world's only 7star hotel located near Souk Madinat.

(formal-dress code + AED 200, $55 for afternoon tea)... call them up for reservation for your afternoon tea
Or whatever u like, it鈥檚 the rule... no one can enter without a reservation first......

4- Now if Ur not going to the 7star hotel, than still visit the other iconic hotel "Jumeirah Beach Hotel"
(Voted the best beach hotel in the UAE)

Visit the gift shop... & Photoshop where you can have pictures taken with the iconic 7stars hotel or the beach hotel & have them printed.

5- Next visit the Mall of Emirates, the biggest mall in Dubai & the Middle East... do some great shopping from clothes to electronics... everything is available in this mall... you name it.. They have it... + do visit the SKI DUBAI* for some indoor
ICE Skiing experience... + do buy some tourist DVDs on Dubai from Virgin MEGA STORE.

Well... that鈥檚 it than i guess... the day is over :)
