Work in Dubai? |
Travel Info Does anyone have knowledge of what is required to work in Dubai? I mean Visas, documents etc. (I'm British) Also what work sectors are best for work? I have some experience in the security industry but ultimately want to do real estate/architechtural photography. Is it reasonably easy to get work there ? Thanks. Travel Tips Best way is to start looking for a suitable job through a recruitment agency. You'll find a whole bunch of them online. Send in you cv and hope to get short listed. With some you can send in your cv stating what job you are looking for and then you will be contacted when a job offer comes up. Go to the link giving below. This link provides your with all information you need to know about working in Dubai. How recruitments work, what a sponsor is, freelance work etc, etc, etc http://www.justlanded.com/english/dubai/... More useful information and a whole list of recruitment agencies you'll find at Astrid's great webpage: http://www.startpagedubai.com/jobs.htm... Take care Source(s): UAE Other Travel Tips If you want to set up your own business then you have to do it in conjunction with an Emirati national and share the profits with them. I would come for a visit visa and get some legal advice because it is a complicated process. The security industry is filled with a majority of Arabs, Indians and Nepalese and tend to be low paid positions even at the supervisory level. Real estate law in Dubai is changing at a rapid pace. I think you will find that the agents are not certified in any way so it is kind of a "wild West"situation at the moment with the consumer often paying the price with many corrupt agents lurking around. Architectural photography, I know nothing about. You would probably have to free lance, which again might be dicey. I think it is best to come to Dubai either with an already established business that you want to extend here or be sponsored for a job by reputable company. Otherwise it often is not easy as it might seem on the surface. I think the best work sectors are healthcare, oil industry, tourism, and construction. have a good read up on legalities before you make your mind up Finding work in Dubai is best done from your home country as if you are recruited from UK you employment package is more likely to include housing allowance, medical care and flights home. As you have yet to have work experience here i would not suggest you go the route of setting up your own company here yet. As mentioned on a previous post check out the recruitment sites also pick up a copy of the Dubai Explorer from your nearest good bookshop it will give you all the info you could possible need on moving & living in Dubai Visa wise you will need an attested copy of your degree certificate and any other higher education certificates, to be able to process your employment visa, passport in original format and photocopy, and 12 photos. You will take a medial test for your visa to be processed, which means you will have a blood test for AIDS and Hepatitis, which your company will arrange. If you test positive for either you will not be granted a visa. Other than that your company will do the rest. If you do not have a degree a company will find it difficult to sponsor you as in recent years it has been brought into legislation all employees must be degree educated. Dubai is a fantasic place to live. Good luck |
